This Bactrian Camel is distinguished by its double humps, whereas single-humped camels are known as dromedaries. The wild Bactrian Camel lives in the deserts of central Asia, a harsh environment for which the creature is uniquely adapted.
- History: Camels have long been domesticated because of their amazing abilities as sturdy, desert pack animals. However, the only wild camels that remain are the roughly 1,000 that live in the deserts of China and Mongolia in east Asia. They are, therefore, listed as critically endangered due to low numbers.
- Scientific Name: Camelus bactrianus
- Characteristics: The Bactrian Camel's two humps for fat storage are clearly visible on this figure, along with the wide footpads that allow it to walk in sand without sinking.
- Size: Each Camel Good Luck Mini is about an inch long, or about the size of a nickel.
- All of Safari Limited's products are Non-toxic and BPA free
